Breaking in the New Kitchen

Over the past month, SingleHop has been extremely busy.  With the new investment from Battery Ventures, the move to the new office, and the addition of many new SingleHoppers, including myself, we really haven’t had the time to just sit down and enjoy our new space.  That’s why our great office administrator, Trey Maclin, thought it would be a good idea to bring in some Barbecue and have everyone sit down for a meal together.

“We’ve been on the go so much lately, I thought it would be nice to bring us all together,” Maclin said.  “There are a lot of new people, and we have this huge kitchen that wasn’t getting used, so it just made sense to me.”

We brought in the BBQ from Smoque, a local restaurant, and I have to admit it was delicious.  Being a southern boy, I have high standards for BBQ, but this place was not a let down. We had a very nice spread of ribs, brisket, pulled pork and pulled chicken.  Not to mention the beans, mac and cheese, and cornbread to top it all off.

Honestly, it was great having everyone come together.  As one of the newer members to the team, sometimes it’s hard to meet everyone in the company, especially those who are on the other floor of the building.  Everyone seemed to be having a good time, eating great food, having great conversation, and even listening to weird songs about BBQ on YouTube.  It was one big happy SingleHop family on this Friday afternoon.
