It’s easy this time of the year to get caught up in the holidays and all the celebrations you have with your family and friends. However it’s also the season of giving, and that’s why every year at SingleHop we take the time to help out and sponsor Christmas for families in need. This year on Sunday, December 9th, our CEO Zak Boca, along with a group of employees traveled to Target to purchase 24 shopping carts worth of gifts and goods, which took over an hour to check out, for various organizations and families throughout the city.
This year we teamed up with the Ebenezer Lutheran Church Tutoring Program , the McCormick Tribune YMCA, and Casa Central to sponsor 9 families in need and bought bags full of gifts, as well as essential need items for La Posada – Casa Central’s interim housing program. Toys were also purchased for the kids at the Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago and for Jennifer Hudson’s Julian D. King Foundation via the Uber Sleigh Toy Drive. As the saying goes, “a picture is worth a thousand words”, but rather than tell you our tale, we’d rather just show you. Enjoy!
A special thanks goes out to our SingleHop employees who participated in our shopping event. We’d like to thank Deanna Swanson, Zak Boca, Andy Pace, Victoria Lett, Ted Tavrides, Sean Foote, Matt Kuikman, Jennie Sullivan, Ryan Quinn and Adrienne Wicklund. We’d also like to thank all the friends and family of the employees who also attended, as well as the wonderful drivers from Uber who helped transport our shoppers and toys from the store. Thank you so much everyone for your time and your generosity.
