We’ve had an amazing year here at SingleHop, experiencing phenomenal sales growth, winning national awards, forming new partnerships, and adding lots of new employees. We feel especially fortunate to have experienced so much success at a time when millions of families are still recovering from the worst recession in decades.
Lately, we’ve been trying make the holidays a little brighter for those who didn’t have such a great 2010. We’ve gotten involved with a number of charities and social service organizations, and we’ve donated time, money, and hardware to some really worthwhile causes.
One of the most rewarding experiences we’ve had was working with Casa Central, an agency in Chicago that provides services to children, families, individuals, and seniors. Casa Central gave us 32 “Dear Santa” letters from kids whose families are in a homeless shelter, and SingleHop stepped in to play the part of Santa.
Since Casa central does such a great job at meeting the basic needs of the families they serve, SingleHop wanted to make sure that each kid received the special gift they requested from Santa. With those 32 letters in hand, the SingleHop crew went to Target on a cold, snowy night and stocked up on toys, MP3 players, video games, sports equipment, and everything else the kids had asked for. It was quite a haul.
Here we are back at the office after bringing in all the loot from our sleigh:
It was a lot of fun for us, and we feel great knowing that we’ve played a small part in helping those kids have a merrier Christmas.
