Hello all you lovely people!
We would just love to say Happy Thanksgiving to all of our customers. We are so serious about your services that we are here, in the office, on the almighty Turkey Day. Our techs are here, our billing department is here, and even our sales department is here, all for you. Though this means missing extensive amounts of football, we’re here, toiling away to present continued service to our extended customer base. We appreciate your choosing SingleHop and we show that appreciation by always being here for you. Again, enjoy the turkey or tofurkey, depending on your taste.
Thank you so much.

We were recently notified that SingleHop had earned a spot in HostReview.com’s top ten list of managed hosting providers. HostReview.com, founded in 1998, is a well respected source for many current and potential hosting clients. As such, we were thrilled to be included, especially because just nine months ago we were selected by HostReview.com as one of the top three fastest growing web hosting providers. We’re still growing like mad, and having earned a spot on the HostReview.com’s top ten list is icing on the cake.

Hello to all current and potential SingleHop customers,
My name is Chris Larkin and I am a recent addition to the SingleHop sales team. I started out with midPhase a while back, doing shared hosting sales and finding out what a great company midPhase is to work for. When Zak asked me to move over to SingleHop, I jumped at the chance!

As many of you know, over the past 10-12 months, SingleHop has gone through some major internal changes that have required infinite patience, an extended amount of research and a huge restructuring on the part of everyone associated with our company, including current and potential customers. We’re *extremely* thrilled, however, to inform those parties considering Dedicated Hosting Service with SingleHop that we are coming out of the gates at full speed!

Upgrade Window: Wednesday, September 5th @ 11:00pm CST - Thursday, September 6th @ 12:30am
Estimated Interruption of Service: Less than 20 Minutes
Explanation: SingleHop will be replacing all current routers with Juniper m7i routers. These routers boast 5gbps - 320gbps of bandwidth throughput. Our network is growing and these routers will be able to handle all SingleHop traffic with plenty of room to grow. The installation of these routers will also prevent any sort of burstable disruption should we receive a plethora of traffic.

Greetings, SingleHop customers, friends and staff!
Today (this evening), August 8th, 2007, has been designated by our management team and Systems Administrators as the migration period to move your servers and hardware configurations to our new Data Center facilities here in Chicago. The move will begin at approximately 10 p.m. It will entail a physical move of the hardware across approximately 9-12 city blocks and should consist of approximately 2-3 hours of actual downtime for individual servers and configurations. We expect to move over 400 servers, network equipment and security nodes over to the new locality.

It’s been a while since I wrote anything so I figured I would update everyone on what is going on at SingleHop now that the hosting off-season is almost over. In short, we are growing faster than anyone would have imagined and as a result are adding additional capacity. I said off-season kind of jokingly but its more or less true, more people use their computers in the winter and as a result the hosting business is busier. Thats what Zak says at least ;]

We have two events we’re sponsoring coming up in the next week or so that everyone should know about!
First there’s the Chicagoland Fast Pitch Competition organized by EntrepreneurshipWeek USA! We’re sponsoring this competition to help support local entrepreneurs on their way to having their dreams realized. We’ll be giving away a free year of hosting to all pitchers and the winner of the competition, in addition to the $5000 will also get three free months of managed dedicated server hosting from SingleHop, almost a $900 value! It’s seeing Chicagoland’s tech community thrive that drives us to get involved in local events like Fast Pitch.

We would like to welcome Tony Guastaferri, the new Junior Systems Administrator, to SingleHop. Tony comes to us with thirteen years of experience with Linux, and five years of experience with server and laptop build and repair. He is an avid gamer and has a thirst for knowledge. Tony has five kids William (11), Paige (9), Dylan (7), Michael (3), and James (5 months). Other than work, Tony enjoys making Sushi, practicing the martial arts Kendo and Kung Fu, and loves anything electronic. He always tries to follow Bushido (Way of the Samurai) in his personal life, and is soon to be married, in June. Tony was born, and has always lived, in Chicago. He loves living in Chicago because there’s always something to do and the city is always alive. Tony can be found out in the city at punk shows or watching local bands.
Glad to have you with us Tony, welcome to SingleHop!
