Dan began his career in the internet infrastructure industry at midPhase Services, Inc., a shared hosting provider that grew to over 160,000 customers before being acquired by UK2 Group. At midPhase, Dan contributed heavily to its rise from a small company to one of the largest shared hosting providers in the United States with over 160,000 customers and $18 million in revenue.

At SingleHop, Dan focuses on the company’s marketing strategy and operations, leading the company’s growing marketing team and working to bridge the gap between marketing, sales and technology. Dan believes heavily in differentiation, and focuses on highlighting SingleHop’s unique and powerful technology platform which helps it stand out from its competitors in a saturated and fragmented marketplace.

Dan regularly attends and speaks at industry and marketing events. As a recognized thought leader in online marketing, Dan is one of the few internet marketing professionals to hold a Horizon Award for Marketing Innovation. When he isn't working, Dan can be found in his kitchen whipping up homemade BBQ sauce, or in front of the grill with a spatula putting that sauce to work.

My first job, back when I was in high school, was at a local Best Buy store. I forget what year it was exactly, but I have a feeling it was 1999 when I walked into Best Buy as an employee for the first time to start my training. After the obligatory paperwork, safety videos, […]

That figure doesn’t count other types of providers, such as those who specialize in applications or simply e-mail services – and that’s just today. The competitiveness of the industry continues to […]

Everyone here at SingleHop enjoys talking about transparency—which is good because we get asked a lot about our innovative and apparently industry-leading approach to transparency and accountability. Much of the attention began early last year when David Strom, writing in the highly regarded tech pub ReadWrite authored an article about our policies that carried the […]

We’ve always been a fan of lofty office space. We love the exposed brick walls. We love how the wiring and ventilation infrastructure is wide-open up-above. In our opinion, older buildings are better. But functionality and productivity are still number one. So when we ran out of space last year and needed to find a […]

Anyone who has been anywhere near a television over the past 20 years has probably at one time or another seen the hapless cartoon character Homer Simpson: “D’oh!” That phrase may come to mind when you consider the logic of going beyond providing hosted infrastructure to also providing hosted applications.  “D’oh!” While the super techies […]

Regular readers know that I’ve previously written about the basics of cloud computing. In a sense it is something that most of us know backwards and forwards—yet it is a topic that we receive a lot of thanks for covering. From the enterprise space . . . as well as from small to medium-sized businesses […]
