Hello all,

I wanted to write a short post about one of our newer services. We recently added a hardware load balancer, specifically a Foundry Networks ServerIron 4G Series Switch, to our network. The idea behind adding this appliance is to make a hardware load balancing service available to our customers.

Every once in a while someone asks me why we have such a dorky looking frog as our mascot. Obviously, his species is known for hopping around and we have the word ‘hop’ in our name, but is that really all there is to it? The answer is yes, and no. More yes, than no… OK, the answer is ‘Maybe.’

To help kernel.org celebrate 10 years of being the primary spot to grab the latest linux kernel source, SingleHop would like to add The Linux Kernel Archives their participating mirror list!

The idea of Linux has been buzzing around technology centers everywhere since 1983, and in 1997 kernel.org decided to take it upon themselves to distribute it to the masses in the fastest way possible. Sites like Kernel.org would not be available if it wasn’t for the community based mirrors that are scattered all across the world, and SingleHop is more than happy to help in spreading the source.
