Event Notification And QuickReaction - Constant AwarenessAndyby11 Oct 2007

Andy

At SingleHop, we’ve got a couple of great services that can keep you a step ahead of trouble with your dedicated server: Event Notification, and Quick Reaction. These can mean the difference between an unhappy client, or an issue being resolved before the same customer ever notices. Here is a quick rundown of what they entail.

We’ll start with Event Notification. Simply put, if any service on your system acts up, or goes down, you or your staff will be notified about it, right away. In an around-the-clock staffing environment, this monitoring is invaluable. The moment a service moves outside of its optimal parameters, an email (even a text message or instant message) is sent to your company. A developer makes a change to a database, and suddenly your SQL service goes down: seconds later, your staff is notified, and the offending change can be undone. Your problems are solved before they are detected.

QuickReaction is very similar, but now you have SingleHop working as your around-the-clock staff. If a service alert is triggered on your server, all technical staff on shift are notified of it immediately, and they leap into action. With local access to your server, even the largest issues are resolved quickly. This is critical if you don’t have an 24 hour technical team: we will be that for you. If your DNS service shuts down, you’ll hear from us that an issue is repaired before you hear from a questioning customer.

We’re always striving to provide the best possible hosting environment for you. We know that our Event Notification and QuickReaction monitoring bring a superior level of service to our customer base. Our friendly and knowledgeable sales staff are always willing to work with you to find the best possible solutions for your needs. Give a call today, and we’ll fill you in on all the details!

Why the Core 2 Duo Processor for our Dedicated Servers?Ronald Cotoniby10 Oct 2007

We have chosen the new Core 2 Duo bleeding edge processors for our new dedicated servers for a variety of reasons. One major reason for picking these processors is that they are faster than their predecessors, and will create a more enjoyable experience while using the server.

The other major reason for choosing the new processors is power consumption. They use significantly less power than the previous processors we were using. The previous generation of processors, the Pentium D series, used about 130 watts of power. The current generation of Core Duo Processors uses around 60 watts. This means there is about a 50% reduction in power being used by the new processor.
