Our scheduled maintenance last night went very smooth thanks to our networking gurus. We originally scheduled for the possibility of 20 minutes of downtime, but we ended up having no downtime at all.

The upgrade replaces our CISCO routers with two Juniper M7i’s, which as Drew mentioned will give us an enormous increase in network capacity. With the added capacity, we’ll be in a much better position to thwart off DDoS attacks.

Along with the equipment upgrade, we also brought online our newest provider, AboveNet. We selected AboveNet to be our primary local provider at our new location, so that in the event that our providers originating from Equinix go down, we’ll still have AboveNet, which operates its own fiber network with a diverse entry path in to the building. All good stuff that in the end mean a faster, more reliable network for your
dedicated servers!

Thanks!
