As you’ll likely see on the site, we’re making a huge shift here at the company. There is a big problem with our planet’s environment, and until recently, SingleHop hasn’t even taken notice to the additional harm that we’re doing! We don’t claim to have the answer, and we don’t claim to be environmentally friendly, but after taking note of the thousands of tons of CO2 we’re producing, we’ve already began making changes, and we’re going to continue to do so!

Network Maintenance Flawless!Zakby06 Sep 2007

Our scheduled maintenance last night went very smooth thanks to our networking gurus. We originally scheduled for the possibility of 20 minutes of downtime, but we ended up having no downtime at all.

The upgrade replaces our CISCO routers with two Juniper M7i’s, which as Drew mentioned will give us an enormous increase in network capacity. With the added capacity, we’ll be in a much better position to thwart off DDoS attacks.

Upgrade Window: Wednesday, September 5th @ 11:00pm CST - Thursday, September 6th @ 12:30am

Estimated Interruption of Service: Less than 20 Minutes

Explanation: SingleHop will be replacing all current routers with Juniper m7i routers. These routers boast 5gbps - 320gbps of bandwidth throughput. Our network is growing and these routers will be able to handle all SingleHop traffic with plenty of room to grow. The installation of these routers will also prevent any sort of burstable disruption should we receive a plethora of traffic.
