    Biography

Yanko Yankov is one of SingleHop's Datacenter Technicians and Systems Administrators. He has quite the role to fill each night while he is aiding our customers with managed services, while performing datacenter maintenance.

Yanko was born and lived in a small town in Bulgaria called Harmanli until he was 19 years old. He found his love for computers when his father bought him his first Apple IIc in the 6th grade. He has self-taught himself everything he knows about computers, discovering the power of Linux/Unix, and has been increasing his knowledge on it ever since.

At the same time Yanko was teaching himself about computers he was also learning how to play Bulgarian bagpipes. After being accepted to both music and computer schools, he decided to attend music school because of the opportunities to travel around to music festivals. His computer smarts, however, definitely didn't get put on the backburner. In 1998, Yanko and his family moved from Bulgaria to the great Windy City of Chicago. Now he is a computer guru, putting his skills to great use helping our customers.

When Yanko isn't feverishly working in the datacenter, you can find him enjoying himself around the city. With his great love for music, he enjoys going to clubs with his friends, even mixing his own house music. If he isn't listening, making or dancing to music, Yanko likes to admire his tropical fish tanks. Even when he isn't at work, he is always furthering his knowledge by experimenting with computer hardware or reading up on Linux/Unix articles.
